Monday News

GoodSearch is a great way to raise funds for Onemission. And GoodShop in particular is great for the holiday season. You can benefit OneMission and do your online shopping at the same time! Last week the office received a $104.68 check in the mail from GoodSearch ($163.69  in 2011 and $299.24 in 2010 as well) from your searches in the past year. GoodSearch, GoodShop, or GoodDining donates to Crossway Church every time you use their search engine, buy online from your favorite sites (places like Amazon, Lands’ End, iTunes, eBay, Target, OfficeMax, Old Navy, Gap, Lowe’s, Best Buy, NFL Shop and more), or dine out. Right now is a great time to take advantage of this opportunity, as you buy gifts, surf the web, and dine out. Spread the word!

To switch your search engine all you have to do is go to GoodSearch, designate Crossway Church (choose the one in Millersville, PA), and start searching! Our OneMission Fund will earn about a penny per search – multiply that by all of our members and it will start to add up. You can raise even more money by taking advantage of Goodshop (at the bottom of the Goodsearch page), where you will receive discounts for purchases from a variety of online retailers. Up to 30% of every purchase will go to our OneMission fund.

For those who don’t want to give up their “homepage,” a simple option is to download the GoodSearch – Crossway Church toolbar. When you use it Crossway will earn money every time you search or shop online – even if you forget to go to GoodShop or GoodSearch first!

You can go here to find out how to use these tools.

Glenn Miller tree climbing in NJ – Recently Glenn accompanied a group who went to Toms River to serve our sister church, Trinity Fellowship, and neighbors of members, following Hurricane Sandy. While there, Glenn was asked to help in taking down a tree in the pastors back yard which the storm had partially uprooted and blown over. The tree was unsafe and left standing. It was in danger of falling on a fence and wood shed below it. The men on the team were taking it down in sections to avoid it falling. Tom Eckman timed the photo perfectly, getting a shot of the section, being cut in the first picture and the falling free in the 2nd.

  1. Let me see key words like “unsafe, danger of falling” makes perfect sense to send someone up it to cut it down…Haha glad everyone got the job done safely. Thank you for serving in this way.
