Ponder Anew…

I love old hymns! One of my favorites is “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty.”  The line that catches my attention every time I sing it is, “Ponder anew what the Almighty can do, if with his love he befriend thee.”

What an amazing truth! The Almighty has befriended ME! He made a way, with his unfathomable love, by pouring his wrath on his son, to save and befriend me.

With this in mind, let’s together ‘ponder anew’ what he can do in our lives:

Is there an area of sin you have been struggling to overcome?

Ponder anew what the Almighty can do!

Is there a desire you’ve had in your heart that you are still asking God to bring about?

Ponder anew what the Almighty can do!

Do you feel the need for strength for the day?

Ponder anew what the Almighty can do!

Do you need wisdom for a difficult circumstance or decision?

Ponder anew what the Almighty can do!

Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”

If you are a believer, the Almighty has befriended you! And, if he would befriend you, just ponder what else he can do.  We can go to the Almighty and bring our requests to him. He will give us what is best, and He loves it when we humbly come to him and ask for his help.

Oh, Lord, increase our faith. Help us to remember what you have already done for us, and to bring our requests to you, knowing that you love us and will work all things for our good and for your glory.

“Praise to the Lord, Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;

Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.

Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,

If will His love He befriend thee.”

~Joachim Neander, 1863~

A great song! I also wanted to ask you who wrote the song that we sang at Women by Design. . . it was about faithfulness. . . ? Not sure of the name either?
