Take some time this morning and consider God. What is he like? How does he treat us? He knows our every sin. He has a completely unvarnished view of who we are.
How do you think he views us? What can we expect from him? What is his disposition toward us? Would you characterize him as David has?
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
Because of God’s mercy toward sinners in his Son, we can know true forgiveness. We can be assured of his love. He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Sweet words to weary sinners.

Thanks Steve. It is good to dwell on God’s merciful and gracious forgiveness to me. And in light of that, I am able to fully forgive others. God has indeed dealt mercifully and bountifully to me. I want to grow in my awareness of that and then likewise overflow with grace to those around me. How great is God’s kindess!
