New York City Trip Created Memories and Supported One Mission

Despite a heat index that made temperatures feel above 100 degrees this past Saturday, 21 Crossway members and 31 other friends who were not from the church had a fabulous time in New York City.  The bus trip, which was coordinated by Dan and Julie Garner (Landis Care Group) and directed by their longtime friend, Tony Corl, earned over $800 for One Mission.  Participants had the option of doing their own thing in the city or going on a planned “Foods of New York” tour.   Suffice to say, whichever option they chose, everyone was buzzing at the end of the day about what a memorable experience they had.  Even the tour director—who has led hundreds of trips into the city—was affected by this special day as he commented:

“(This trip) goes down as one of my all time favorite trips to NYC….because all of the great people in your church that were on the bus. I truly had a spectacularly great day in the city. Even more importantly, being able to do something to help your church, even in some small way, has been very uplifting. WE’LL ALL THANK THE GOOD LORD FOR THAT BLESSING as we do for all of our blessings!”

The Garners are planning a second trip to New York City for late in the fall, which will include the option of seeing a show or doing your own thing!  Look for details to arrive soon.

(1 Corinthians 5:7 ESV)

Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

(1 Peter 1:18-19 ESV)

knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, [19] but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
